Thank you, Madam Chair, for giving me the floor again. Further to the comment made by the distinguished delegate of Turkey, we would like to recall the established procedures and working methods of the Fifth Committee. Reiterate that in the Fifth Committee deliberations on budgetary issues regarding special political missions stem from the resolution of the United Nations Security Council. These resolutions established a mandated mandates framework of the special political mission and set out the UN parameters on which these special political uh these political processes are based. We recall in particular resolutions five four one nineteen eighty three and five five zero nineteen eighty four. These resolutions are binding to all member states who must adhere to and abide by them. Our role in the Fifth Committee is not to revisit these minutes, but to discuss and adopt the level of resources that will allow their full implementation. Thank you, Madam Chair.

Um the EU admitted the Greek Cypriot administration as a full member despite the overwhelming Greek Cypriot vote in two thousand and four against a comprehensive settlement. Since then, the EU has been unable to adopt a balanced position on the Cyprus issue. As long as the EU positions exclusively reflect the interests of the Greek Cypriots, the EU will continue to disqualify itself from the role of an objective contributor to the efforts in search of a solution. Thank you. If there are no further comments, the committee has thus concluded its general discussions on these issues. Informal consultations on the reports just introduced will be coordinated by Mr. Torbjorn Svanevik of Norway.
